Thank God and the Academy...
Last night I drove back from Montreal at a furious pace to take part in the Mariposa Folk Foundation's "Sentimental Songs" revue, where I debuted a new original song in a nervy and rather precious performance on the ukulele, accompanied by a trumpet.
The priceless trophy shown here was presented to me for placing fourth out of approximately ten acts, one of which was a fifteen minute a capella song about strangling a falcon.
In case you can't believe your eyes, YES, it IS a crumpled box with a half-peeled away Zellers price sticker, containing not one, but two Lego Jar-Jar-Binks babies complete with emus of some sort to ride on.
Things I have won:
Fourth, Grade 6 boys 100-yard dash, Nobel Public, 1980

3 track ribbons, Grade 8, Nobel Public, 1982
