Strawberry Season

Isn't it time for strawberries,
Isn't it girl, isn't it girl?
Fresh picked berries and some ice cream please
C'mon, let's give it a whirl...
The berries are ripe, firm to the touch
Burstin with flavour and goodness and such
I want 'em so badly, need 'em so much...
It's strawberry season again!

Strawberry season again, strawberry season again
And I ain't had any since I don't know when...
Strawberry season again

Isn't it time for strawberries,
Isn't it girl, isn't it girl?
Fresh picked berries and some ice cream please
C'mon, let's give it a whirl...
I got a job to do, got a train to catch
But I'm standing at the gate and lifting the latch
I'd rather be rolling in the strawberry patch
It's strawberry season again

Strawberry season again, strawberry season again
And I ain't had any since I don't know when...
Strawberry season again

Isn't it time for strawberries,
Isn't it girl, isn't it girl?
Fresh picked berries and some ice cream please
C'mon, let's give it a whirl...
Cuz everybody needs a little sweet surprise
Try to cool you down when the temperatures rise
Open your mouth and close your eyes
Its' strawberry season again

Strawberry season again, strawberry season again
And I ain't had any since I don't know when...
Strawberry season again
Strawberry season again, strawberry season again
And I ain't had any since I don't know when...
Strawberry season again!

When I write songs like this on the uke, I call them "silly little ditties."

I love those old-fashioned songs that pretend to be about one thing and are really about another.

This one pretends to be about sex, but it's really about strawberries.
