My Sweetest Memory
They all call me Sloppy,
But Joseph is my name
I'll flip your eggs and fry your bacon
An old-time jalopy
Is my only claim to fame
I'm flying when I'm making like I'm free
Trees, flowers
Birds up on the wires
Fade into a blur behind me
The motor and the muffler
And the rumble of the tires
Remind me of my sweetest memory
Eggs over easy, coffee in a mug
Load the loaves
And carry in the milk jug
Grilled cheese and ketchup
Coleslaw on the side
Studebaker waiting
For a Sunday morning ride...
They all call me Sloppy
But what is that to me?
I'm far beyond the reach of teasing
Driving my jalopy
Down the highway so carefree
With the breeze & my sweetest memory
The breeze & my sweetest memory
The breeze & my sweetest memory...
But Joseph is my name
I'll flip your eggs and fry your bacon
An old-time jalopy
Is my only claim to fame
I'm flying when I'm making like I'm free
Trees, flowers
Birds up on the wires
Fade into a blur behind me
The motor and the muffler
And the rumble of the tires
Remind me of my sweetest memory
Eggs over easy, coffee in a mug
Load the loaves
And carry in the milk jug
Grilled cheese and ketchup
Coleslaw on the side
Studebaker waiting
For a Sunday morning ride...
They all call me Sloppy
But what is that to me?
I'm far beyond the reach of teasing
Driving my jalopy
Down the highway so carefree
With the breeze & my sweetest memory
The breeze & my sweetest memory
The breeze & my sweetest memory...
