Monday Morning Again

The alarm clock rings and the covers fling
Up and at 'em, got a million things to do
Hustle, bustle, the papers rustle
On the Monday morning train
Good morning Ted, Good morning Fred
Are you still shaking off that sleepy head?
Cuz you ain't even over your Saturday night
Now it's Monday morning again
Monday morning again
Clock on the wall says half past ten
Take a little break -
And then back at it again

Keyboards clack, the machinery hums
Would you rather be out on the street with the bums?
Or flipping over burgers in a fast food joint
Please pay attention to the powerpoint
Your position is clearly marked on this chart
Now don't upset the apple cart
Keep your shoulder to the wheel until you know when:
Monday morning again
Clock on the wall says half past noon
Tick tick tick not a moment too soon

And it goes like that for the whole damned day
Another Monday morning's just a week away
Tuesday comes, it's the same old show
Wednesday Thursday Friday to go
At the end of the day, at the end of the week
Get your pay and that's a ray of hope,
You're at your peak
But it's Friday night, Saturday, Sunday and then
Monday morning again

The alarm clock rings and the covers fling
Up and at 'em, got a million things to do
Hustle, bustle, the papers rustle
On the Monday morning train
Good morning Ted, Good morning Fred
Are you still shaking off that sleepy head?
Cuz you ain't even over your Saturday night
Now it's Monday morning again
Monday morning again
Monday morning again
Monday morning again
